What happens when you mix local HR and business leaders, a critical business topic, and an iconic local venue?

"The best networking event I have been to in three years!" - Emma Nabb (BAE systems)

Last summer, we hosted a panel and networking event at the Pumphouse, Winchester. The discussion was based around 'Retaining key female talent: Where are we now?'. We were joined on the panel by Dame Carolyn Fairbairn DBEApril Trubshaw, and John Whelan MBE, as well as 26 business and HR leaders. Along with rich discussion around retaining female leadership, there were also some excellent takeaways on wider talent focus. We're extremely grateful to the panel and everyone for making it such a captivating evening.

The event was so well-received that it inspired us to make this a regular forum, hence, Talking Matters was born. Our focus in on people, business, and how to get the best outcomes for all. Come and join us at our Winchester based events starting this autumn. Any questions don't hesitate to drop an email to Jane or Jenny.

** All events are located at 'The Pumphouse' in Winchester **

Upcoming dates:

April 2024

July 2024

-Our next discussion, 'Reskilling for Sustainable Growth', takes place on the 17th April  and will feature an input from John Whelan MBE of the Corporate Research Forum (CRF). CRF is a HR research and membership organisation.

The shrinking workforce, AI-driven disruption and the need to apply a sustainability lens to every area of the organisation mean that the future workforce will look very different. Organisations need to develop reskilling strategies to identify and build future capabilities and ensure a sustainable workforce

John will share insight from CRF’s latest research on Reskilling and will explore how the shape of the workforce is likely to evolve, and the implications for our organisations. We will also consider reskilling on a personal level; how do we all ensure that we continue to learn and develop our skills for the tech-enabled world.

The feedback for our inaugural event in October was amazing with Jane providing insights from her new research Stopping Work

“I thoroughly enjoyed the whole evening; it was refreshing to talk to HR professionals outside of my organisation.”

“Thank you so much for arranging the experience, I’m delighted to have been invited along and I very much look forward to contributing to future workshops.”

“I thought the range of HR managers from a wide variety of industries provided a really helpful and broad range of views.  Collating such diverse experience can only be beneficial in delivering a fully informed response to the challenges of the workplace, and hopefully, in implementing win/win policies for all concerned!”
